"The" League (TM) began as The CBus League in 2018. It officially became "THE" LEAGUE (TM) in 2019 after Ohio State University applied for the trademark of "The". After taking a year off in 2020 due to a global pandemic and the commissioner running for Congress, the league returned in 2021. The league has incorporated the history prior to 2021 into the Yahoo! record book but the league will begin award the trophy and update this website beginning with 2021. Therefore, the official start date of "The" League (TM) championship and the inaugural year for "The" Trophy is 2021.
